Boots & Bones brings American barbecue and Southern soul food to Newark Avenue in downtown Jersey City, next to the Grove Street PATH station. The menu was created by Chef Kenny Callaghan, formerly of Blue Smoke, and the star is an 18-hour hickory-smoked beef brisket, alongside St. Louis ribs, chopped pork shoulder, and smoked sausage. The Works platter feeds four with a bit of everything, and the menu itself flags the brisket loaded potato as a must try. Weekend brunch adds a smoked brisket Benedict, and there's a speakeasy bar called Under the Boot.
