Embark Smoked Meats is a woman-owned smokehouse in downtown Boonton, run by chef Jasmine Gomez, a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education who spent three years on a BBQ food truck before opening here in December 2023. Brisket gets about 12 hours on the smoker and pulled pork up to 16, but the burnt ends are the star, especially piled over three-cheese mac. St. Louis spare ribs and smoked wings round out the menu, and NJ.com named it among the state's 31 best BBQ joints for 2026. Catering is available too.
